The Music of Today
In the music industry today there is a mass saturation of the same type of music I’m not talking about a few I’m talking about thousands and thousands. After attending several rock shows in the past months I have seen over 130 bands and 120 of them were all alike.
I sat down at my home and pondered the question why? Why is this happening. And I came up with a couple different reasons. One of the reasons is the age of the musicians I have found that the older seasoned players have more of a refined original sound whereas the younger ones tend to copy their favorite bands. This is a nail in there coffin and they don’t even know it. Being original is key to success in this business. The other reason is everyone wants to be a rock star. And yet another is everyone wants to have a band and write all the music.
In my opinion if some of these players would get together with other players and hash out an original idea they would be a lot better off. In the months I have been doing this study I have come across only a few bands that have an original idea but most of them had less than desirable music.
I feel that in the phoenix metro area there is only one band that has something real, something exiting, and something fresh. And that band is none other than a local act from Mesa Arizona 2 IN THE CHEST.
If you have not had the privilege of seeing this band or hearing there music you are missing a treat that’s very sweet.
